Total RNA was extracted with Trizol reagent, followed by clean-up and DNase I treatment with QIAGEN Rneasy mini kit. Total RNA was quantified with a Nanodrop 8000 Spectrophotometer and quality control was performed with an Agilent Bioanalyser 2100 using the Agilent RNA 6000 Nani kit.
