Primary mouse fibroblasts were exposed to DMEM growth media (DMEM + 10% FBS, control) or Breast tumor-conditioned media (DMEM growth media harvested from MDA-MB231 breast tumor cell cultures, treated) for 8 hours, after which total RNA was extracted from both control and treated cells.

Primary mouse fibroblasts were isolated from inguinal mammary glands of 8-10 week-old female mice (MEKK1+/+ or MEKK1-/-) and grown in DMEM with 10% FBS.

All of the array protocols and data processing protocols, including labeling, hybridization, scanning, data processing and value definition were performed at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, 750 North Lakes Shore Drive, Rubloff 11-144, Chicago, IL 60611. When these experiments were performed in 2010, the name of the facility was the Center for Genomic Medicine, Genomics Core Facility. All procedures were performed on a per-fee basis, and only normalized data was provided to our group at the end of the process. Any raw or non-normalized data were discarded one year after the service was provided.
