P. falciparum synchronized at the ring stage was cultured in the presence of dihydroartemisinin, 7-benzylidenenaltrexon, or rimonaband hydrochloride for 12 h. Parasites were isolated at the end of the incubation period, and preserved in RNAprotect Cell reagent (Qiagen).
