Treatment protocol Cells were briefly resuspended in water and irradiated (or mock treated for unirradiated samples) with 100 J/m2 UV-C light with a Stratalinker 1800 (Stratagene). Cells were then resuspended in fresh YPD and allowed to recover for the indicated times by incubation with shaking at 30ºC.
Growth protocol Cells were grown overnight in liquid YPD with shaking at 30ºC to an OD600 = 1.0.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol Total RNA was extracted using a hot acid phenol method followed by sodium acetate/ethanol precipitation.
Label biotin
Label protocol cDNA synthesis, cRNA synthesis, biotin labelling and fragmentation were performed using Affymetrix GeneChip reagents according to the manufacturer's instructions.
 
Hybridization protocol Hybridization of labelled, fragmented cRNA to Affymetrix Yeast Genome 2.0 arrays was performed using Affymetrix GeneChip reagents according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Scan protocol Scanning was done on the Affymetrix GeneChip System according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Description Gene expression data for WT yeast cells 60 minutes after UV irradiation (100 J/m2)
Data processing The data was quantile normalized and expression estimates were generated using the Bioconductor GCRMA (version 2.10.0) package in R (version 2.6.2).
