Title |
Fluorescence detection of FAO activity with a chemical probe in cultured cells and mouse liver tissue |
Organism |
Mus musculus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
Fatty acid beta oxidation (FAO) pathway is an important metabolic pathway for energy generation and is deeply associated with various diseases such as cancer and NAFLD/NASH. Therefore, development of detection methods of FAO activity change would contribute to understanding of disease mechanism and drug discovery. In this study, we newly developed a fluorescent probe for fluorescence detection of FAO activity in cultured cells and mouse liver tissue and applied this probe for investigation of the heterogeneity of FAO activity in mouse liver tissue by FACS and mRNA sequence.

Overall design |
Hepatocytes in the liver of the mice administrated with our fluorescent probe were separated by FACS and mRNAs expressing in the hepatocytes were investigated for understanding of heterogeneity of FAO activity.
