Title |
Transcriptomic analysis of tendon progenitors of Drosophila leg |
Organism |
Drosophila melanogaster |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
The progenitors of Drosophila leg tendon are specified among leg disc epithelium during third larval instar. At the end of larval stages and beiginning of pupae formation, tendon cells invaginate and then collectively migrate to form a tube-shaped structure.

Overall design |
Drosophila leg discs were dissected from 0h after pupae formation (Stripe-gal4>UAS-GFP). Leg disc cells were dissociated in collagenase and papain solution and cell-sorted using. RNA from GFP positive cells and from control cells (whole leg disc cells) were extracted for analysis by deep sequencing, in triplicate, using Illumina NextSeq sequencing platform.
