The oligo set consisted of the mirVana miRNA Probe Set, a collection of amine-modified DNA oligonucleotides targeting a comprehensive selection of human, mouse, and rat miRNAs from miRBase, purchased from Ambion. The probes in the mirVana miRNA Probe Set are 42-46 nucleotides (nt) long and consist of an 18-24 nt segment that targets a specific known human, mouse, or rat miRNA, plus spacer and attachment sequences for coupling to the surface of the microarray slide. The oligo set was printed on SCHOTT Nexterion Slide E microarray slides with 6 replicated spots for each probe.
