- Also known as
- peptide chain release factor 3
- Summary
- Encodes a chloroplast stroma-localized ribosomal peptide chain release factor that is involved in the light- and stress-dependent regulation of stability of 3' processed petB transcripts to adjust cytochrome b(6) levels. It appears to bind to the 3'-UTR of petB RNA, protecting it from 3'-5' exonucleolytic attack. At-prfB3 arose from a gene duplication of At-prfB1.
