    Summary
This gene encodes a CCHC-type zinc finger protein that is a member of the nanos family. This protein co-localizes with the RNA-binding protein pumilio RNA-binding family member 2and may be involved in regulating translation as a post-transcriptional repressor. Mutations in a similar protein in human are associated with spermatogenic impairment. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
