    2. Study identified two plant-specific proteins, companion of cellulose synthase 1 and 2 CC1 (At1g45688) and CC2 (AT5G42860) that can interact with the CesA proteins and with microtubules. Mutations of the proteins led to salt-sensitive phenotypes and altered microtubule and CSC behavior in vivo.
