Involved in several processes, including cellular response to mercury ion; cellular response to platelet-derived growth factor stimulus; and positive regulation of cellular component organization. Part of NADPH oxidase complex. Used to study Parkinson's disease; pulmonary hypertension; transient cerebral ischemia; and vascular dementia.
