Located in brush border; early endosome; and perinuclear region of cytoplasm. Part of plasma membrane proton-transporting V-type ATPase complex. Is expressed in several structures, including Malpighian tubule; adult CNS glial cell; anterior-posterior subdivision of organism; gland; and gut section. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in autosomal dominant congenital deafness with onychodystrophy and renal tubular acidosis.
