    Summary
Predicted to enable methanethiol oxidase activity. Predicted to be involved in protein transport. Predicted to act upstream of or within brown fat cell differentiation. Predicted to be located in fibrillar center. Orthologous to human SELENBP1 (selenium binding protein 1). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Dec 2024]
    Annotation information
Note: LOC103689947 appears to be a duplicate placement of Selenbp1 on Rnor_6.0 (Annot. Release 105) that is present on Rn_Celera but is absent from the previous reference assembly (Rnor_5.0) and not supported by syntenic regions in mouse and human. It appears that Selenbp1 was annotated on Rn_Celera as LOC103689947. Selenbp1 annotation on Rnor_6.0 is thus supported by annotation on Rn_Celera (as LOC103689947) and additionally, synteny with mouse and human. BLAST analysis of the LOC103689947 underlying component AABR07012460.1 shows 99% identity with a ~60 kb region of NC_005101.4 including where Selenbp1 is annotated. Annotation of Selenbp1 at this location on Rnor_6.0 is supported by annotation of LOC103689947 on Rn_Celera. This apparent duplication could be explained by misassembly of several underlying components on Rnor_6.0. [17 Mar 2015]

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
