Pvr - PDGF- and VEGF-receptor related
Enables transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase activity and vascular endothelial growth factor binding activity. Involved in several processes, including imaginal disc morphogenesis; morphogenesis of an epithelium; and positive regulation of intracellular signal transduction. Acts upstream of with a positive effect on neuron remodeling. Located in plasma membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including adult brain; head; hemocyte; imaginal disc; and somatic precursor cell. Used to study cancer; carcinoma; and nephrolithiasis. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); gastrointestinal system cancer (multiple); leukemia (multiple); lung disease (multiple); and retinal disease (multiple). Orthologous to several human genes including FLT1 (fms related receptor tyrosine kinase 1) and KDR (kinase insert domain receptor). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Dec 2024]
