Summary
This genomic element is located approximately 8.7 kb upstream of the Gfi1 (growth factor independent 1) gene on chromosome 5. It is one of several regulatory regions in the vicinity of the Gfi1 gene. It can function as an enhancer of the heterologous SV40 promoter in reporter gene assays in stably transfected MOLT4 T lymphoblasts. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
