Comprehensive lncRNAs expression profiling reveals the potential role of lncRNAs in systemic lupus erythematosus [Human LncRNA Array v3.0]

(Submitter supplied) long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are novel non-coding RNAs which play an important part in regulating gene transcription and translation, modulating protein function, and acting as competing endogeneous RNA. Moveover, there is increasing evidence showing that aberrant expressions of lncRNAs are implicated in various cancers. Yet, their roles in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), a prototypical autoimmune disease, remain unknown. more...

lncRNA profiling in moDCs of systemic lupus erythematosus

(Submitter supplied) Recent studies have shown that alterations in the function of dendritic cells (DCs) are involved in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). However, the role of DCs participating in SLE remains unclear. We profiled the lncRNAs of LPS-stimulated moDCs in SLE patients compared with healthy controls.

Genome-wide analysis of long noncoding RNA expression profile in patients with Marjolin’s ulcer

(Submitter supplied) Marjolin’s Ulcer is an aggressive cutaneous malignancy that typically ensues over a period of time in the post-burned lesions and scars or any other chronic wound. Marjolin’s Ulcer makes up 1.2% of all skin cancers, it is reported that 2% of squamous cell carcinoma and 0.03% of basal cell carcinoma originate in burn scars. Recent studies have shown that long non-coding (lncRNA) plays critical roles in a myriad of biological processes and human diseases,Since the roles of lncRNA in Marjolin’s Ulcer remain unknown, they were investigated in the study. Our findings indicate that the expression profiles of lncRNAs has changed in Marjolin’s Ulcer as compared with normal skin and para-cancerous scar, and may provide novel insight into the molecular mechanism underlying the disease and potential novel diagnostic or therapeutic targets for Marjolin’s Ulcer.

(Submitter supplied) Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a serious autoimmune disease whose molecular pathogenesis is not well understood, especially the functions long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in SLE development. In this study, we integrated the transcriptome profiles (RNA-seq) of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PMBCs) from SLE patients and two published RNA-seq datasets to explore the expression profile of lncRNAs. more...

Comparison of long non-coding RNA expression profiles in human periodontal tissue cells

(Submitter supplied) Human dental follicle cells (hDFCs) are precursor cells of periodontal development. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been revealed to be crucial factors that regulate a variety of biological processes; however, whether lncRNAs serve a role in human periodontal development remains unknown. Therefore, the present study used microarrays to detect the differentially expressed lncRNAs and mRNAs between hDFCs and human periodontal ligament cells (hPDLCs). more...

LncRNAs expression signatures of cumulus cells isolated from PCOS patients revealed by microarray

(Submitter supplied) Our study is the first one to determine genome-wide lncRNAs expression patterns in cumulus cells of PCOS patients by microarray. The results displayed that clusters of lncRNAs (n=623) were aberrantly expressed in PCOS patients compared with non-PCOS patients. Many differentially expressed lncRNAs were transcribed from regions on chromosome 2 and classified into enhancer-like lncRNA subgroup. XLOC_011402 (PWRN2) was found for the first time that it was not only expressed in testis but also in cumulus cells. more...

Differential expression of lncRNAs during the HIV replication cycle

(Submitter supplied) Studying the effects of HIV infection on the host transcriptome has typically focused on protein-coding genes. However, recent advances in the field of RNA sequencing revealed that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) add an extensive additional layer to the cell’s molecular network and are highly involved in the regulation of molecular processes, including gene expression. Here, we performed transcriptome profiling throughout a primary HIV infection in vitro to investigate lncRNA expression at the different HIV replication cycle processes (reverse transcription, integration and particle production). more...

Gene expression analysis to identify long noncoding RNAs deregulated in Myc-driven B cell lymphoma

(Submitter supplied) Myc is a well known transcription factor with important roles in cell cycle, apoptosis and cellular transformation. Long non-coding (lnc)RNAs have recently emerged as a important class of regulatory RNAs. Here, we show that lncRNAs are an extensive component of the Myc-regulated transcriptional program. Using the P493-6 inducible Myc model we demonstrate that both Myc-induced mRNAs and lncRNAs were significant enriched for Myc binding sites. more...
