Expression data from inflamed PANC1 cells

(Submitter supplied) The effects of mutant p53 on TNFa stimulated PANC1 cells was tested. PANC1 cell harbor endogenous mutation in p53 (R273H). We knocked down this mutp53 (using sirna for p53) and then treated with low doses of TNFa to detect any differential transcription regulation governed by mutp53.

Inactivation of Irf1 causes susceptibility to colitis-associated colorectal cancer

(Submitter supplied) The incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) is increased in patients afflicted by inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) The cellular and molecular mechanisms that link chronic inflammation of the gut and increased CRC susceptibility are poorly understood. Risk of IBD is strongly influenced by genetic factors, including the IBD5 locus (5q31), harboring the IRF1 gene. A cause to effect relationship between chronic inflammation and CRC, and a possible role of IRF1 were studied in Irf1-/- mutant mice in a model of colitis associated CRC (CA-CRC) induced by azoxymethane and the irritant dextran sulfate. more...

Transcriptomic analysis of head and neck cancer stable cell lines [RNA-seq, p53 R273H, MCM5]

(Submitter supplied) Gain-of-function mutant p53 can function through a mutp53-MCM5-Sting-noncanonical NFkB signaling axis. We will analyze the transcriptional profiles of head and neck cancer stable cell lines UM-SCC-1 with overexpression of R273H mutant p53 and/or MCM5 under the normal culture condition.

Copper Metabolism Domain-Containing 1 Represses Genes That Promote Inflammation and Protects Mice From Colitis and Colitis-Associated Cancer

(Submitter supplied) Background & Aims Activation of the transcription factor nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) has been associated with the development of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Copper metabolism MURR1 domain containing 1 (COMMD1), a regulator of various transport pathways, has been shown to limit NF-κB activation. We investigated the roles of COMMD1 in the pathogenesis of colitis in mice and IBD in human beings.

Expression data from mutant p53 breast cancer cell line SK-BR-3

(Submitter supplied) Tumor associated mutant p53 proteins often gain new functions for tumorigenesis and tumor progression. It has been shown that mutant p53 can transcriptionally regulate a group of genes, which in turn contributes to mutant p53 gain of function. A mutant p53 interacting protein Pontin binds to mutant p53 and promotes its gain of function. This experiment tests whether the interaction of Pontin with mutant p53 regulates the transcriptional activity of mutant p53. more...

Vanillin Ameliorated Azoxymethane/Dextran Sodium Sulfate-Induced Murine Colorectal Cancer: the Involvement of Proteasome/Nuclear factor-κB/Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Pathway

(Submitter supplied) Vanillin is a natural dietary flavoring. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the common malignancies in the world. Chronic intestinal inflammation is a risk factor for the development of CRC. We have previously found that vanillin improves and prevents the colitis in mice. Here, we evaluated the inhibitory activities of vanillin on a mouse model of colitis-induced colon cancer.
