Expression data from healthy and malignant (chronic lymphocytic leukemia, CLL) human B-lymphocytes after B-cell receptor stimulation

(Submitter supplied) Three different cell populations (6 healthy B-lymphocytes, 6 leukemic CLL B-lymphocyte of indolent form and 5 leukemic CLL B-lymphocyte of aggressive form) were stimulated in vitro with an anti-IgM antibody, activating the B-cell receptor (BCR). We analyzed the gene expression at 4 time points (60, 90, 210 and 390 minutes). Each gene expression measurement is performed both in stimulated cells and in control unstimulated cells. more...

Profiling and bioinformatics analyses reveal differential expression of circular RNA in tongue cancer revealed by high-throughput sequencing

(Submitter supplied) Circular RNAs (circRNA) are special non-coding RNAs. They are widely present, but with unknown functions. Recent studies have shown that many endogenous circRNAs have sponge function to absorb microRNAs. They can regulate target gene mRNA expression and play important roles in many biological processes. However, expression profile and function of circRNAs in human TSCC haven’t been reported. High-throughput sequencing was performed to identify and annotate from three TSCC tissues and adjacent tissues. more...

Hierarchical regulation in a KRAS pathway-dependent transcriptional network revealed by a reverse-engineering approach (RAS-ROSE and ROSE with siRNA)

(Submitter supplied) RAS mutations are highly relevant for progression and therapy response of human tumours, but the genetic network that ultimately executes the oncogenic effects is poorly understood. Here we used a reverse-engineering approach in an ovarian cancer model to reconstruct KRAS oncogene-dependent cytoplasmic and transcriptional networks from perturbation experiments based on gene silencing and pathway inhibitor treatments. more...

Novel bio-marker discovery for stratification and prognosis of breast cancer patients

(Submitter supplied) The study entails novel bio-marker discovery of Tumor Aggressive Grade signature (TAGs) genes and their role in recurrence free survival of breast cancer (BC) patients. Current BC dataset was used for co-expression analysis of TAGs genes and their role in BC progression. Additionally, recent findings have suggested an importance of structural organization of sense-antisense gene pairs (SAGPs) for transcription, post-transcriptional and post-translational events and their associations with cancer and disease. more...

Expression analysis of eu-miR-155 transgenic mice B-cells.

(Submitter supplied) miR-155 transgenic mice develop pre-B cell leukemia/lymphoma. Though some targets of miR-155 are known, understanding of the mechanism by which miR-155 overexpression drives malignant transformation is not known. MicroRNAs regulate multiple genes.

Dysregulated gene expression networks in human acute myelogenous leukemia stem cells

(Submitter supplied) We performed the first genome-wide expression analysis directly comparing the expression profile of highly enriched normal human hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) and leukemic stem cells (LSC) from patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Comparing the expression signature of normal HSC to that of LSC, we identified 3,005 differentially expressed genes. Using 2 independent analyses, we identified multiple pathways that are aberrantly regulated in leukemic stem cells compared with normal HSC. more...
