Differential expression in laccase mutants of Arabidopsis thaliana

(Submitter supplied) ra10-01_laccases; laccase mutations. We demonstrated that laccases are involved in lignin polymerisation. Mutants have already been tested on microarrays and there is few differences compared to wild-type. The laccase mutation seems surgical. We possess a new double mutant, called snips, with a semi-dwarf phenotype, and we want to determine its profile.

(Submitter supplied) Arabidopsis plants (ecotype Ler) were grown under short day conditions (8h cool white fluorescent light at 100 uE, 16h dark) at 20 °C and ambient humidity in PGW36 phytochambers (Controlled Environment Ltd., Winnipeg, MB, Canada). Plants were grown in Redi soil (Grace & Co, Ajax, ON, Canada) in 12 cm pots at a density of five plants per pot without fertilization for 8 weeks. Analysis of sections from 5 and 10 cm long ecotype Ler bolting stems. Different stages of vascular and interfascicular fiber differentiation can be identified along the axis of bolting stems. Results provide insight into the molecular mechanisms controlling this pattern of development.
