Human myeloma cell lines gene expression profiling

(Submitter supplied) In order to investigate the patterns of genetic lesions in a panel of 23 Human Multiple Myeloma Cell Lines (HMCLs), we made a genomic integrative analysis involving FISH and both gene expression and genome-wide profiling approaches. The expression profiles of the genes targeted by the main IGH translocations showed that the WHSC1/MMSET gene involved in t(4;14)(p16;q32) was expressed at different levels in all of the HMCLs, and that the expression of the MAF gene was not restricted to the HMCLs carrying t(14;16)(q32;q23). more...

Characterization of B- and T-lineage ALL by Integrated Analysis of microRNA and mRNA Expression Profiles

(Submitter supplied) Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is an heterogeneous disease comprising several subentities that differ for both immunophenotypic and molecular characteristics. Over the years, the biologic understanding of this neoplasm has largely increased. Gene expression profiling has recently allowed to identify specific signatures for the different ALL subsets and permitted identification of pathways deregulated by a given lesion. more...

miRNA profiling in Human K562 cells undergoing erythropoietic induction

(Submitter supplied) We investigated the miRNA expression in ex vivo human erythroid cultures from K562 cells. Hypothetically, the decline of certain miRNAs may promote erythropoiesis by unblocking expression of key functional proteins while the up-regulation of other miRNAs may block commitment to non-erythroid lineages. By comparison with the miRNA expression changes in human umbilical cord blood-derived CD34 cells, signature miRNAs for erythroid development can be discovered. more...

miRNA expression during UCB-CD34 cells erythropoiesis

(Submitter supplied) We investigated the miRNA expression in ex vivo human erythroid cultures from umbilical cord blood (UCB)-derived CD34 cells. Hypothetically, the decline of certain miRNAs may promote erythropoiesis by unblocking expression of key functional proteins while the up-regulation of other miRNAs may block commitment to non-erythroid lineages. Therefore, discovering the patterns and sequence of miRNA expression during hematopoietic differentiation will provide insights about the functional roles of these tiny noncoding genes. more...

Expression data from human embryonic stem cell differentiation

(Submitter supplied) MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are noncoding RNAs of approximately 22 nucleotides in length that usually suppress the translation of target messenger RNAs (mRNAs) through partial complementarity to the 3¡¦ untranslated region (3¡¦ UTR) of protein-coding mRNAs in animals. However, there is increasing evidence that miRNAs can also reduce the steady-state levels of their target mRNAs in animals. In this investigation, both miRNA and mRNA profiles from the undifferentiated human embryonic stem cell line hES-T3 (T3ES), hES-T3 derived embryoid bodies (T3EB) and hES-T3 differentiated fibroblast-like cells (T3DF) were quantitatively determined. more...

MicroRNAs Expression in the Ileal Pouch of Patients with Ulcerative Colitis is Robustly Up-Regulated and Correlates with Disease phenotypes

(Submitter supplied) Gene expression alterations are associated with disease behavior in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). microRNAs (miRNAs) are dominant in the regulation of gene expression, and may affect IBD phenotype. Our aim was to assess mucosal miRNA expression in IBD and the correlation with intestinal inflammation. Sixty-one subjects were recruited. The ileum of unoperated UC patients was comparable with NC. There were significant miRNA expression alterations (fold change ≥2, corrected P ≤.05) in NP (n = 6), CP (n = 40) and CLDP (n = 139), but only two expression alterations were noted in CD. more...
