Identifying targets of FLC at 27oC

(Submitter supplied) FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) is a MADS box transcription factor that plays a well characterised role in repressing the vegetative to floral transition of Arabidopsis thaliana. FLC has also been shown to affect the Arabidopsis circadian clock, with mutant seedlings showing short circadian periods. In a previous study, we identified the temperature-dependent circadian period QTL PerCv5b near the FLC locus on the top arm of Chromosome 5. more...

Combinatorial activities of SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE and FLOWERING LOCUS C define distinct modes of flowering regulation in Arabidopsis

(Submitter supplied) The transition to flowering in plants is controlled by a regulatory network that responds to both developmental and environmental signals. The MADS-box genes FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) and SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE (SVP) are major flowering repressors that enhance responses to environmental cues such as winter temperatures, high ambient temperatures and photoperiod. FLC and SVP physically interact in vivo and mutation of each gene causes early flowering while the double mutant is more extreme. more...

Combinatorial activities of SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE and FLOWERING LOCUS C define distinct modes of flowering regulation in Arabidopsis

(Submitter supplied) The MADS-box transcription factors FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) and SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE (SVP) are major transcriptional repressors controlling flowering time. They enhance responses to environmental cues such as winter temperatures, high ambient temperatures and photoperiod, acting at least in part by blocking transcription of the floral pathway integrators. As other MADS-box transcription factors, FLC and SVP can interact in vivo forming multimeric complexes. more...

Arabidopsis thaliana 26k 70-mer spotted oligoarray

(Submitter supplied) The 70-mer oligo was designed from the 3'-end of 26,090 annotated genes. Every 70-mer oligo is spotted once on each slide. Protocol: This oligonucleotide array is produced from the Operon Version 1.0 Array-Ready Oligo set (AROS). The 70-mer oligo was designed from the 3'-end of 26,090 annotated genes. Every 70-mer oligo is spotted once on each slide.

Gene expression analysis of jmj30 jmj32 mutant grown at 29°C under long day conditions

(Submitter supplied) Analysis of loss-of-function mutants of JUMONJI30 (JMJ30) and JMJ32 in Arabidopsis thaliana (Col). JMJ30 and JMJ32 encode the histone demethylases that contain the catalytic JmjC domain. The trimethylation of Histone H3 lysine 27 (H3K27me3) plays a key role in gene repression and developmental regulation. It is actively and dynamically deposited and removed in plants. However, while the H3K27 methyltransferases had been extensively studied, findings on the H3K27 demethylase were few. more...

LWD1 and LWD2 in Arabidopsis photoperiod regulation

(Submitter supplied) Transcriptome analysis has revealed a light-regulated WD (tryptophan and aspartate)-containing protein, LWD1. LWD1 and LWD2 share greater than 90% amino acid sequence homology. The lack of phenotype changes in the lwd1 or lwd2 single mutant implies that the proteins function redundantly. The lwd1lwd2 double mutant, however, has an early flowering phenotype under both long-day (LD) and short-day (SD) conditions. more...
