Cigarette smoking effect on full-term placenta

Analysis of full-term placentas exposed to maternal cigarette smoke. The placenta produces and metabolizes steroids and xenobiotics. Results provide insight into the effects of maternal cigarette smoking on the placenta at term, with a focus on xenobiotic- and steroid-metabolizing genes.
