Fish oil supplementation induces anti-atherogenic gene expression profiles in human blood mononuclear cells

(Submitter supplied) Fish oil supplementation is generally seen as beneficial for human health, due to the presence of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs). These fatty acids can elicit their effect through changes in gene expression. Effects of n-3 PUFAs on gene expression of inflammatory and atherogenic markers have been shown in several in vitro and animal studies. However, little evidence is available on human in vivo studies on n-3 PUFA related gene expression. more...

NuGO array (human) NuGO_Hs1a520180 [CDF: Hs_ENTREZG_10]

(Submitter supplied) CDF file was created by Microarray Lab at the Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience Institute at the University of Michigan. Oligonucleotide probes on GeneChips were reorganized based on the latest genome and transcriptome information. In this particular case the Entrez Gene database (build: Sept 11, 2006) was used as source. For the CDF file based on Entrez Gene: A probe must hit only one genomic location; Probes that can be mapped to the same target sequence in the correct direction are grouped together in the same probe set; Each probe set must contain at least three oligonucleotide probes and probes in a set are ordered according to their location in the corresponding exon. more...
