In Memoriam

Glynn Llewelyn Isaac 1937–1985

The committee was greatly aided in its work by groups of colleagues who prepared background papers for this volume. Glynn Isaac, professor of anthropology at Harvard University, chaired one such group. After transmitting his group’s manuscript, he became seriously ill while working overseas, and he died in Yokosuka, Japan, en route home. We honor here his contributions to this project and to the science of human origins.
