Isolate was obtained using R2A medium at 27°C for 7 days. The original source is an established biofilm attached on the surface of a copper coupon incubated in a CDC reactor receiving water from a chloraminated drinking water distribution system simulator. The sample was collected after an episode of nitrification and followed by a ‘chlorine burn’ (i.e. switching disinfectant from chloramine to chlorine).
