Clinical bloodstream isolate CUBIST-2 is part of the Cubist Pharmaceuticals Isolate Collection. CUBIST-2 is the daptomycin-resistant isolate of the CUBIST-1/CUBIST-2 sequential isolate paired strains obtained from a patient with endovascular staphylococcal infection following daptomycin treatment failure. It is multilocus sequence type 5, clonal complex 5, SCCmec-II (+), spa type t242 / T1-J1-M1-E1-M1-D1-M1-G1-M1-K1. It was previously described in a 2015 report as strain "C2".
