host descriptionClinical bloodstream isolate CUBIST-6 is part of the Cubist Pharmaceuticals Isolate Collection. CUBIST-6 is the daptomycin-resistant isolate of the CUBIST-5/CUBIST-6 sequential isolate paired strains obtained from a patient with endovascular staphylococcal infection following daptomycin treatment failure. It is multilocus sequence type 5, clonal complex 5, SCCmec-II (+), spa type t242 / T1-J1-M1-E1-M1-D1-M1-G1-M1-K1. Compared to CUBIST-5, CUBIST-6 has sequence variations in walK (L494V), and in mprF (T345A). It was previously described in a 2015 report as strain "C6".
