Grass carp reovirus genotype (GCRV) causes a variety of fish hemorrhagic disease, which seriousely affects the sustainable development of aquaculture industry in China. Different GCRV strains can lead to different mortality in grass carp. Rare minnow (Gobiocypris rarus) is an ideal model fish to study the pathogensis of GCRV.
