The Fusarium fujikuroi species complex (FFSC) is a sub-generic grouping within the fungal genus Fusarium that includes multiple species that are of economic and/or health concerns because they can cause disease on crop plants and/or they can contaminate infected crop with mycotoxins, such as fumonisins, beauvericin, fusarins, fusaric acid, and moniliformin. DNA sequence-based phylogenetic analyses have further divided FFSC into three monophyletic lineages known as the African, Asian and American clades.
