We compared the microbiota composition of patients with lung cancer and controls with pulmonary nodules. In addition, we assessed the microbiota composition of active and non-active smokers. In the few studies examining the effect of lung microbiota on lung cancer, gut microbiota has been analyzed, but lung microbiota has not been sufficiently evaluated. This study is the first in Turkey to assess the lung microbiota of lung cancer patients.
