The malaria parasite P. falciparum regulates gene expression and chromatin structure through modifying the histones within nucleosomes. This study analysed the histone acetyl transferase PfGCN5 by determining its sites of enrichment within the genome and the effect on gene expression and acetylation of the histone Pf H2B.Z when PfGCN5 was knocked-out.
