Aeromonas ichthiosmia = Aeromonas veronii
On the basis of small subunit rRNA analysis (Collins et al. 1993d), AFLP fingerprint analysis (Huys et al. 1996), and DNA-DNA hybridization analysis (Huys et al. 2001) A. ichtiosmia and A. veronii are conspecific. The matter is under review by the Subcommittee on the taxonomy of Vibrionaceae (Nair and Holmes 2002).
