SdrH family protein C-terminal domain; The founding member of this family of staphylococcal proteins, SdrH from Staphylococcus epidermidis, is one of three MSCRAMM family proteins, but is atypical in lacking a recognizable LPXTG-like C-terminal recognition sequence for cell wall anchoring. This HMM represents the entire region C-terminal to the repetitive, low-complexity region that is a feature of all members of this family. That repetitive region consists mostly of Ser-Asp dipeptides in S. epidermidis but has radically different compositions in other species.

Dermokine is one of the most highly expressed proteins in differentiating keratinocytes, found mainly in the spinous and granular layers of the epidermis, but also in the epithelia of the small intestine, macrophages of the lung, and endothelial cells of the lung. SdrH family protein C-terminal domain; The founding member of this family of staphylococcal proteins, SdrH from Staphylococcus epidermidis, is one of three MSCRAMM family proteins, but is atypical in lacking a recognizable LPXTG-like C-terminal recognition sequence for cell wall anchoring. This HMM represents the entire region C-terminal to the repetitive, low-complexity region that is a feature of all members of this family. That repetitive region consists mostly of Ser-Asp dipeptides in S. epidermidis but has radically different compositions in other species.
