Zinc-finger domain of monoamine-oxidase A repressor R1; R1 is a transcription factor repressor that inhibits monoamine oxidase A gene expression. This domain is a four-CXXC zinc finger putative DNA-binding domain found at the C-terminal end of R1. The domain carries 12 cysteines of which four pairs are of the CXXC type. The actual alignment was detected with superfamily member pfam10497: Pssm-ID: 463117 Cd Length: 99 Bit Score: 61.51 E-value: 1.40e-11

WRC; The WRC domain, named after the conserved Trp-Arg-Cys motif, contains two distinctive features: a putative nuclear localization signal and a zinc-finger motif (C3H). It is suggested that the WRC domain functions in DNA binding. The actual alignment was detected with superfamily member pfam08879: Pssm-ID: 462621 Cd Length: 42 Bit Score: 58.04 E-value: 5.39e-11

RmlC-like cupin superfamily; This superfamily contains proteins similar to the RmlC (dTDP (deoxythymidine diphosphates)-4-dehydrorhamnose 3,5-epimerase)-like cupins. RmlC is a dTDP-sugar isomerase involved in the synthesis of L-rhamnose, a saccharide required for the virulence of some pathogenic bacteria. Cupins are a functionally diverse superfamily originally discovered based on the highly conserved motif found in germin and germin-like proteins. This conserved motif forms a beta-barrel fold found in all of the cupins, giving rise to the name cupin ('cupa' is the Latin term for small barrel). The active site of members of this superfamily is generally located at the center of a conserved barrel and usually includes a metal ion. The different functional classes in this superfamily include single domain bacterial isomerases and epimerases involved in the modification of cell wall carbohydrates, two domain bicupins such as the desiccation-tolerant seed storage globulins, and multidomain nuclear transcription factors involved in legume root nodulation. The actual alignment was detected with superfamily member pfam02373: Pssm-ID: 477354 Cd Length: 114 Bit Score: 51.14 E-value: 9.76e-08

JmjC domain, hydroxylase; The JmjC domain belongs to the Cupin superfamily. JmjC-domain proteins may be protein hydroxylases that catalyze a novel histone modification. This is confirmed to be a hydroxylase: the human JmjC protein named Tyw5p unexpectedly acts in the biosynthesis of a hypermodified nucleoside, hydroxy-wybutosine, in tRNA-Phe by catalysing hydroxylation.
