Public Note for CCDS 21932.1
The coding region has been updated to extend the N-terminus. The use of an alternative upstream start codon would result in a protein that is 1 aa longer. The uAUG appears to be only conserved in mouse and rat, while the dAUG shows much better conservation. This means that the second AUG, which has a stronger Kozak signal, may also be used due to leaky scanning past the first AUG.
